Finding a sense of home wherever you are

Heya Reader,

Over the last year life has moved me from place to place. No fixed home, no familiar corner to return to. Every time I unpacked my bag I realised something new about what I lean on and what I expect from the spaces around me. It showed me how deeply we all long for a sense of belonging. A place where we can exhale. A place that feels like ours.

Somewhere during a trip through Wales I saw a deeper truth inside all these changes. Life was nudging me towards a different kind of home. Not a physical one. A home within myself. A quiet inner steadiness that stays with me wherever I go. A place inside that welcomes me in every moment, even when everything around me shifts.

Many of us know this feeling in our own way. You may not be moving houses, though you might be moving through a transition in your relationships, work, identity, or phase of life. The ground can feel unsteady for a while. You can feel between worlds, no longer fully in what was, not yet in what is forming. It is natural to reach for something familiar.

The deeper invitation is to notice the place within you that does not depend on any of it. The part that feels at ease when you sit with your breath. The part that belongs to life itself rather than to a specific situation or role. When we connect with that space, something softens. We settle. We feel safe inside our own presence. We move through change with more trust and fewer edges.

I am still learning this. We all grow at our own pace. There is no hurry. There is simply the next moment in which you can return to yourself and feel a little more at home.

Finding a home within ourselves

Home is not always a place. Sometimes it is a space inside yourself that stays steady while life keeps moving.
